We also can convert the files into an MP4 and transfer them to a provided USB or a Dodge-Chrome branded drive. Why transfer my tapes now?

Old tapes, like many analog media formats, can deteriorate over time and face several issues that impact the quality and longevity of the content they contain. A lot of these formats use magnetic tape to store video and audio information. Over time, this tape can degrade, leading to a loss of video and audio quality. What about film?

Another "fun" thing with film is that some film stocks, particularly acetate-based films, can develop a condition known as "vinegar syndrome." This results in a vinegar-like odor and causes the film to become brittle and deteriorate rapidly, and trust us, you'll know when it happens.
